Kirkmichael: Past, Present and Future

Talk by Dr. Jim MacKay

Dr Jim Mackay, local historian and Chair of the Kirkmichael Trust, will explore the medieval architecture and carved stones at Kirkmichael and Cullicudden in the Black Isle and compare with those found in locations as diverse as Contin, Dingwall, Grantown, Argyll and Iona. He will describe how the ancient buildings at Kirkmichael, once thought too far gone to be saved, are being returned to life as a magnificent heritage resource, hosting a display of medieval carved stones.
